St. Mark Sandwich squad is open to everyone - parishioners and non-parishioners, members of parish organizations, and those who are not members of any parish organization. All volunteers are welcome and can assist/help in some manner.
Volunteers meet after the 8:00 am Mass on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Saturday of every month in the Parish Hall. They make approximately 200 sack lunches which are donated to Casa Maria Soup Kitchen in Tucson, AZ. Each sack lunch contains a meat and cheese sandwich, a cheese sandwich, a baggie filled with chips, a baggie with cookies, and a banana.
UPDATE: Congratulations to our generous parishioners. Since we started this project last year, we have collected over 34,000 PB&J sandwiches for Casa Maria. The need continues to exist.
Please follow clean techniques:
Place the PB&J sandwiches into an individual Ziploc bag, then place them into the loaf wrapper. Please note, that as temperatures get warm, we cannot safely accept refrigerated/perishable items, such as yogurt, at the outdoor table
Our drivers, as well as the Saturday Sandwich Squad, can use some occasional help. If you would like to help, please enter your information on the form to the left.
Thank You,
The Works of Mercy Council
