We have once again been notified that a parishioner in the Diocese of Tucson has been swindled out of several hundred dollars by a text message sent by someone claiming to be their pastor. The text said that the supposed "pastor" was using Apple Music Cards or similar gift cards to help cancer patients to download music and videos while they are undergoing treatment. While the details of this specific scam are not clear, we are aware that similar scams are happening throughout the country. We want to make it clear to all our parishioners:
We will NEVER ask parishioners to send money, gift cards or anything else directly or to a specific account - all donations are to be given through the Parish, the Diocese, or another 501(c)(3) recognized by the Diocese of Tucson
If any of your parishioner have questions or concerns about a text, call or email which asks them for money, they should call the Parish Office, 520-469-7835 or the Diocese of Tucson at 520-838-2500 to verify that the request is valid.
Stay alert! Scams are on the rise.
If you are aware of this scam in your parish, please advise your local law enforcement agency and the Diocese of Tucson.
We want to keep our parishioners safe from cyber criminals!
Thank you,
Parish Office
We got great feedback on the sound issues in the Church. Thank you to all who took the time to provide us with such valuable information. The results from the survey can be seen on this image. You are able to see how many people reported issues in each one of the sections, with the circled numbers being the total to each section.
We have submitted this to our acoustic engineers. Solutions to come, hopefully soon!
