The central mystery in Christianity is the Most Holy Trinity. The divine life of the Trinity is the power of the sacraments, the truth of Scripture, the faith of the saints, the charity of a virtuous life and the hope of sinful humanity. Cain's sacrifice was rejected and Abel's was accepted. Jesus is permitted to die and ignominious death. Why do we think he is the savior? How do we know his sacrifice is acceptable?

“As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love." John 15
