"Joseph, then, teaches us that faith in God includes believing that he can work even through our fears, our frailties and our weaknesses. He also teaches us that amid the tempests of life, we must never be afraid to let the Lord steer our course. At times, we want to be in complete control, yet God always sees the bigger picture."
Patris Corde 2
St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Stepfather to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has been and is a Saint that we all should honor and pray to in our daily lives. Pope Francis has dedicated our Catholic Church from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021 as the Year of St. Joseph. St. Mark has initiated special actions to honor St. Joseph, in addition to our time-honored respect and love for this great pillar of the Catholic Faith. St. Joseph is the Patron of the Universal Catholic Church and has also been recognized as St. Joseph the Worker, based upon his earthly life as a carpenter, whereby he set an example of diligent effort for his Stepson Jesus.
We ask that you and each member of your family say a daily prayer to St. Joseph asking for his powerful intercession in gaining spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. Below is a short prayer you may use.
Dear St. Joseph, Patron of the Catholic Church and Families, I place before you my daily challenges and needs, and ask for your powerful intercession through your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for all spiritual blessings. I offer my thanksgiving to You, the most loving of Fathers. Amen.
