The Giving Tree is located in the Narthex of our Church. You will find various tags with gift needs for children. Please select a tag or two and help those in need this Christmas season.
Your unwrapped Gifts may be left under the Giving Tree and will be stored by one of our Council members.Gifts are due by December 13. This year we are sponsoring:
Casa de los Niños - A social Service agency offering Foster Care, Parenting skills, Counseling, and classes for families in need. The unwrapped gifts are chosen by Parents, Foster Families, or Social Workers. They will wrap them to give to the children in need. Should any gifts be leftover, they will be used for birthdays, graduations etc. Please take an ornament and attach it to the gift.
If you are unable to come to church to choose an ornament, please see the following suggested gifts for ages Infant thru Late Teens:
Art & Craft Supplies
Books & Journals, all ages
Board Games – Monopoly, Connect 4, Twister, Uno, Candyland, Sorry, Jenga, Family Card games
Infant: Pullups, Wipes, Neutral Onesies, Clothing for 24 Months to 5T, Swaddle Blankets
All ages: Shorts, Socks and Undergarments
Teens: Headphones, Polaroid Camera
Also, Gift Cards are needed for the following stores: Food City, Fry’s, Safeway, Target, Walmart. Please return the Gift Cards in an envelope labeled “Giving Tree Gift Card” and place in the collection basket or box for safekeeping. Do not place the Gift Cards under the tree. St. Mark is one of the top contributors to Casa de los Niños. The due date for Gift Cards is no later than Dec 12.
The following agencies will have envelopes on the Giving Tree, in Red Bags, which can be sent directly to the specified agency. For those who wish to donate but will not be able to access an ornament, please go to the specified website to send donations directly to these agencies. Please comment that you are from St. Mark Catholic Church.
Do not return monetary donations for the specific organizations to St. Mark.
Casa Maria A Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen serves the homeless who need a meal, shower, or clothing. Poverello House Based on Franciscan tradition, this day shelter provides meals, showers, comfort, and clothing to homeless men. Reachout Women’s Center A Pro-Life agency providing pregnancy testing, ultrasound, counseling, material assistance and clothing.
