Why a "special prayer"?
Who is it for?Pope Francis, Father John, and Catholic Clergy have seen the loss of many from the Catholic Church and its spiritual traditions. Bishop Barron has reported there are more ex-Catholics than Catholics in our country. A great many leave the Church during young adulthood. How can we at St. Mark help secure our own spiritual life, that of our family, our Parish, as well as others important to us and the entire community - prayer is one of our best answers. Evangelization is an effort directed at bringing people to God, and closer to God. Please consider making the following prayer a part of your daily activity. Prayer, plus actions we take in our daily lives, will be what brings us all to God.
PRAYER FOR EVANGELIZATION
Our Father who art in Heaven, I ask in Your Name,
and that of Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit
to help me continue to build my spiritual life,
and that of my family and the community of St. Mark,
that we may daily come closer to You.
Further, that my actions and prayers
will be an example to also bring others closer to you.
As you have taught - knock and the door will be opened -
I knock that I, my family, and others
may seek and enter Your Kingdom.
Amen.
