Parish is starting a new ministry group for divorced and separated individuals
Parish is also initiating religious education for parishioners with developmental disabilities
Upcoming job posting for an Administrative Assistant to fill a soon to be open position
FAITH FORMATION
Council is formulating ideas for a Divine Mercy Sunday program for the Sunday after Easter
FINANCE
Increased offertory program has been very successful
Debt reduction effort in December raised approximately $250,000; outstanding debt on the church will be reduced to approximately $1.6 million after applying the debt reduction payment
STEWARDSHIP
Planning and preparation for the upcoming Ministry Fair (January 21 and 22) is on-going with planning meetings being held on January 11th and 18th; set-up for the fair will begin at 9am on Saturday the 21st.
WORSHIP
Three new members were welcomed to the council
Continuing discussion of the Second Vatican Council document Sacrosanctum Concilium, the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy
Discussed feedback from liturgical ministers regarding daily mass
Initial planning discussion for Lenten Soup Suppers
CARE & JUSTICE
Christmas Giving Tree effort was a success
Approximately $6,700 was raised for Sister Jose Women’s Center
Approximately $3,000 was raised for the Casa Maria Soup Kitchen
Ongoing discussions regarding mentoring opportunities through the Pima County “Bridges Out of Poverty” program
FACILITIES
Eagle Scout project tree planting to take place on January 21st
Finance Council has moved to accept bids for replacement of three HVAC units on the Parish Hall as well as parking lot crack filling and seal coating for parking areas adjacent to the church building
Researching options for replacement of the chapel doors due to continuing maintenance concerns with the existing doors
Working on conceptual design for potential future chapel courtyard project
Annual facilities walk-through scheduled for February 3rd
Discussed tentative dates for Spring grounds clean-up
