Last week, we talked about the Old Testament as the interpretive background for the story of Jesus of Nazareth. This week, we will take a look at Jesus, a first century Jew. His earliest followers were also all Jewish. They had expectations of the reign of God. They were a divided people; Sadduccees, Pharisees, Essenes and Zealots. There were Jews that spoke Aramaic and others, Greek. We will look at a story that recounts One Day in Capernaum and ask what would we have seen if we had followed Jesus around with a video camera. How would you know that he is the Son of God?
