In Loving Memory Maryann “Mahnia” Metro-Villazon 1945-2017
Maryann “Mahnia” Metro-Villazon (72 years old) passed away on November 16, 2017. Mahnia was born on March 25, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Steven and Angelina Metrow (deceased). She currently lived in Tucson and previously resided in Altus, Oklahoma. Mahnia is survived by her sons: Troy Alexander Villazon and Christian Anthony Metro….Granddaughter: Taylor Paige Metro…who all reside in Tucson, AZ.
In her youth she completed high school and attended beauty college where she became a hairdresser. She then started her own electrolysis business before becoming a stay-at-home Mom. She was currently retired, but previously worked in retail at J.C. Penney. Mahnia enjoyed West Coast swing dancing, Zumba and Yoga at the YMCA. She was hostess to wonderful dinners and enjoyed baking delicious Polish pastries. She also enjoyed taking her dog for walks in the park.
She was a bright and wonderful soul that had a knack for making people laugh and smile. Her favorite saint was St. Anthony of Padua. Mahnia was an avid collector of dolls of angels and was surrounded by her guardian angels. She spread love and joy to everyone around her. She was always active in the community. Mahnia had an impact on the lives of everyone she met and will be remembered by many family and friends. There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, November 25th at 11am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Road, Oro Valley, AZ. Following the funeral mass, food and refreshments will be provided at Christian Metro’s residence located at 12079 N. Copper Spring Trail, Oro Valley, AZ.
