Patricia Menna, age 72, died suddenly on January 21
st, 2019, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Patt (Patti) is survived by her beloved husband James Menna of Marana, AZ; adoring daughter Carrie Adams of San Antonio, TX; son Craig Adams of Royal Oak, MI; and her loving stepsons James Menna (Kimberly), Chris Menna (Kelli) and Philip (Cynthia) all from Michigan. In addition, Patt is survived by six beautiful grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Patt was born on April 7
th, 1946 in Inkster, MI, to Lucille Williams. She graduated from Cherry Hill High School in 1964. Patt enjoyed raising her children and a worked as a seamstress for several years. Once her children were grown, Patt spent 7 years working for the Downriver Community Conference.
Patt married her second husband and soulmate Jim Menna on September 17, 1993, in Trenton, MI. They enjoyed 25 amazing years together. Often inseparable, Patt is famous for her BBY license plate – Be By You – as an expression for their dedication to one another.
Patt was extremely social and active. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, card and board games, sewing, knitting, and traveling. She delighted in sending a personalized gift that she carefully sewed or knitted. Patt welcomed friends and family graciously into her home - no one was a stranger.
Patt and Jim especially enjoyed traveling in their post-retirement years – fortunate to see and experience several amazing destinations around the world and especially enjoyed when friends and family could accompany them. Patt was deeply involved in volunteering for her churches - St Mary’s in Lake Leelanau, MI and most recently dedicated many hours to the congregation at St. Mark in Oro Valley, AZ. Patt made a lasting impression on the many people she touched in MI and AZ. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind, thoughtful and generous person…always wanting to please and embrace those that surrounded her.
A funeral is scheduled for Patt on Tuesday, January 29th, at St Mark Church located at 2727 W. Tangerine Road, Oro Valley, AZ. Visitation at 10 am, Service at 11 am and reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patt’s life. The family would especially like to thank Christine Shoner and Howard Shepard for their tremendous assistance at this difficult time.
