Obituary for Joann Grace Shea

Joann Grace Shea (nee Stark) of Oro Valley, AZ passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 23rd, 2022.

Joann, aged 92, was born and raised in Tarentum PA in 1930; married Everett D. Shea, Jr. in 1951; lived much of her adult life in St. Mary’s PA where she and Everett raised four children; and retired to Hilton Head, SC and finally Oro Valley AZ.

Joann is predeceased by her husband Everett and her son Jeffrey; and survived by her daughter Kathy (and husband Joseph Chera in Oro Valley AZ), her daughter Cynthia (and husband Terry Wilson in Oro Valley AZ), and her son Samuel (and wife Anne in Pennsdale PA); as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her toy poodle, Rose.

Joann lived a wonderful life. She was known for her beauty – inside and out, and dedication to her family. Along with her husband, Everett, Joann was very active in the St. Mary’s and Arabian Horse communities. She also enjoyed cooking, crafting, furniture restoration, tennis, and travel.

Joann’s body will be cremated at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, and her ashes will be interred at the Shea family plot in Luthersburg PA. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Oro Valley on Saturday November 26th at 10 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at Vistoso Funeral Home.
