Following Governor Doug Ducey's order allowing local leaders to mandate their own mask policies, the Pima County Board of Supervisors voted late Friday afternoon, June 19, that - effective immediately - requires all residents to wear face coverings* in public spaces, indoors or out.
The resolution passed 3-2.
Two amendments were made during Friday's meeting, including the age requirement. The ordinance states that all residents over 5 years old, except those who meet certain exemption requirements, must wear masks or face covering while in public areas.
Parishioners and visitors to St. Mark the Evangelist Parish are expected to abide by guidance outlined in the resolution beginning this weekend.
*Face coverings must completely and snugly cover a person's nose and mouth.
