1. View Brother Francis video "Bread of Life: Celebrating the Eucharist" with your child on FORMED. Click here to view.
After watching the video with them, ask them the following questions:
1. What does the word "Eucharist" mean?
2. How can we prepare our hearts to receive Holy Communion?
3. How can we (like the grapes) stay connected to Jesus the true vine?
4. How did Jesus reveal himself to little Imelda?
2. Practice "At the Altar" Activity with your child.
Go over part 1 and discuss the 11 different articles that are typically used on an altar for Mass. Then print out part 2 and let your child cut out each article and place it on the altar. The 2 parts are attached below.

3. Help Your Child Complete Eucharist Flip Book
Assist your child in printing out, cutting and assembling the Eucharist flip-book attached below. To simplify the activity I would recommend just doing the center pages and not worrying about the outer pages that are supposed to fold in. As your child works on each page, ask them about their experiences using the prompts. Both the flip-book activity and the questions to ask your child while they work on this are attached below.

4. Listen to the video of the song "O Sacrament Most Holy" with your child, and practice the lyrics and sign language together.
At the First Communion Mass after everyone receives Communion all First Communicants will stand in front of the altar and sing the song "O Sacrament Most Holy." The song will be led by our choir director Ms. Marisa Troppy, who is shown in the video below. Below is the video with the sign language. The lyrics are typed below, should you choose to print them out for practice.
O Jesus we adore you, who in your love divine conceal your mighty godhead in forms of bread and wine
O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment thine.
O Jesus we adore you, come live in us we pray, that all our thoughts and actions be yours alone today
O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment thine.
