We will be reopening for Weekend Masses on this Saturday, August 8. The survey we conducted suggested that just under one-half of the parish was interested in attending a public mass at this time. Mostly parishioners are choosing to attend online.
Mass attendance, this weekend and following, will be limited to under 250 people in order to maintain social distancing. Because we are limited to volunteers who are under 65 years of age, we are unable to use the main strength of our volunteer program and, consequently, we face challenges adequately staffing masses. So we will start slowly and move forward from here.
For August, our Weekend Mass Schedule is as follows:
8:00 am Saturday Daily Mass: masks and social distancing required
Communion distribution and Confessions outside in the courtyard immediately after Mass, ending at 8:45 AM
Mass will be streamed online (website, Facebook, YouTube)
4:00 pm Saturday Vigil Mass: masks and social distancing required
Communion distribution in the courtyard immediately after Mass, lasting a half-hour
No confessions in the afternoon, as it is too hot!
Mass will be streamed online (website, Facebook, YouTube)
8:00 am Sunday Mass: masks and social distancing required
Communion distribution and Confessions outside in the courtyard immediately after Mass, lasting a half-hour
10:00 am Sunday Mass: masks and social distancing required
Communion distribution in the courtyard immediately after Mass, lasting a half-hour (until 11:15 am)
Communion can only be received outside at this time and placed in the hand. I am hoping that between those that attend Mass, in person and those that watch online, we can join together for Communion as the Body of Christ.
To enter the Church, face masks are required on all parishioners age six and older. We strongly encourage the use of masks in the courtyard for communion distribution. We are not going to be utilizing sign-ups for Mass at this time.
I urge you to be faithful, hopeful, and strong. God bless you and see you this weekend,
