Obituary for Robert Sabel

Robert A.Sabel, 75, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away at home, surrounded by loved
ones on November 10, 2024. He was born on January 16, 1949 in Fond du Lac,
Wisconsin. Bob, as everyone knew him, was a much-loved father, grandpa, brother, son
and friend, known for his selfless, gentle, wise, and kind-hearted nature.

Bob was a visionary and loved being a business owner, which included running a golf
course, a grocery store, and a floor covering Shoppe. His enterprises were not only
successful but also beloved in their respective communities, reflecting his commitment
to service and excellence.

He served his community spiritually as well, being an active member of Holy Name
Catholic Church in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and St. Mark Catholic Church in Oro
Valley, Arizona. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily
interactions and endeavors.

Bob was an avid reader, golfer and card player. Long road trips, great music, and
dreams of the wild west carried him through his life. He also cherished the simple joy of
caring for birds and other critters that visited his home.

He is survived by his sons, Zachary R Sabel and Adam (Laura) Sabel; their mom,
Katheryn Sabel; grandsons, Alexander, Tanner, and Matthew Sabel; siblings, Mary
Scofield, Joyce Sandberg, Kathleen Martin, Ronald Sabel, and Jerome Sabel. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Gregor and Marie Sabel.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Road,
Oro Valley, Arizona, on December 4, with visitation at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral
Mass at 10:00 AM. A reception luncheon will follow at Catalina State Park for family and
friends. There will also be a Celebration of Life held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado
during the summer 2025.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Indian Education Fund,
