Our beloved, Parents, Grandparents, and Great Grandparents passed away just 36 hours apart after 68 years of marriage.
Pat and Eileen moved their family from Centereach, New York, to Tucson, Arizona in 1962. Shortly after they arrived, Pat settled down and opened a beauty salon and worked until he retired at the age of 62. Eileen went to the U of A and earned her master’s degree in Education. She worked in the Sunnyside School District until she retired at 62.
They most enjoyed traveling, being active community members in the Catholic Church, and spending time with their grandchildren. They also knew how to have fun — and loved getting together with great food and good company.
They are preceded in death by their daughter Margret Hayes (Oaks), and their parents Pat and Josie Hayes, and Bill and Emily O’Rourke. They are survived by their children Sharon Martinez (Hayes) (John), Patrick Hayes Jr. (Joanne), and Mike Hayes (Tamma). Their grandchildren Kevin Hayes (Elisha), Gina Verdugo (Joe), Eileen Dobek (Leonard), Patrick Oaks (Freya), Michael Hayes, and Megan Hayes. Their great-grandchildren, Matthew Verdugo, Allison Verdugo, Nathaniel Verdugo. Natalie Verdugo, Quinn Hayes, and Kiera Hayes.
Their Love of Family will live within all of us forever.
A funeral Mass and celebration of their life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday,
July 5th, 2021 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Road, Oro Valley, AZ.
