Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
In Genesis 12: 1-3 God promises Abram, soon to be Abraham, "The LORD said to Abram: Go forth* from your land, your relatives, and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of the earth will find blessing in you." In Matthew 5, the Sermon on the Mount, Abram's descendant Jesus of Nazareth begins to teach, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, their's is the Kingdom of God," There is the Kingdom of God again and God can take one off his bucket list!Readings for the 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time: bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/012923.cfm
